This is the place where I can document my understanding of how my interests in public art and circus can help inform and invigorate the public spaces I work for every day. I currently work on land use planning projects from the neighborhood to the national forest scale for a local community planning firm in Anchorage, AK. Previous to community planning, I worked as a circus artist, teaching and performing across the state. I began to explore these intersections of art and planning public space several years ago during Michael Gerace's curated work "The Berth Spot". At the time it was a natural spin-off of my work as a circus artist and occasional street performer. I realize now more than ever that the ability to read a crowd is helpful for thinking about our public spaces.
